| Sanders and Spencer still level in top jockey title battle - 9 Nov 2007 |
|
Seb Sanders and Jamie Spencer are still level with 187 wins each in their battle to be named this season's champion jockey.
Both added two wins each to their tally on Thursday, with Spencer winning on Cha Cha Cha at Musselburgh and with Boz in the wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk Handicap.
Meanwhile Sanders took the Book Tickets Online At wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk Maiden Auction Stakes on Ian Wood's Easy Wonder, and partnered Chrystal Venture in a victory in the Ringside Nursery Handicap.
It could have been a very different tale, had it not been for the decision of the British Horseracing Authority's disciplinary panel not to uphold an earlier win by Spencer on Black Rain at Newmarket last Friday, at a hearing that took place yesterday morning.
Both riders were at the hearing, at which Sanders' complained about the decision of the local stewards to demote him and Classic Descent to second place because of accidental interference, a ruling which handed victory to his titl |
